Type Locality and Naming

Along the Jetymtau Mountains, Central Kyzylkum. Ya.B. Aysanov et al., 1984.

Lithology and Thickness

Organogenic pelitomorphic limestones with interlayers of dolomites, argillites, and calcareous siltstone (aleurolites). Thickness up to 150 m.

Conformably overlies the Irlyr Fm

Conformably overlain by the Oguztau Fm

Contains stromatoporoids - Amphipora cf. kirgisika Lach., A. ex gr. intexta Yavor., A cf. ramosiensis Bog., A. ex gr. ramosa Phill., Stachyodes sp. (ex gr. singularis Yavor.) and others, tabulates - Favosites rhenama Frech. and others; foraminifers - Avroria cf. singularis Pojark., Parathurammina sp., brachiopods - Stringocephalus sp.,


Age 

Stromatoporoids characterizes the Givetian age (Middle Devonian) of the enclosing rocks. On the State Geologic Map-500 of Uzbekistan (460) it is assigned to the Lower-Middle Devonian.
