Type Locality and Naming

Along the Jetymtau ridge, Southwest Tajikistan. Yu.N.Andreev, 1966 (366, p.38). Stratotype at the village of Dasgirak, in the central part of the Jetymtau ridge. Enters the Luchak Horizon and Akkapchigay Horizon (55; 189; 318;446; 452)

Synonym: Dzhetimtauskaya Suite, Джетыимтауская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Clays, siltstone (aleurolites) reddish-brown spotted with rare interlayers of sandstones. Thickness 30-90m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Overlies the Mingbatman Fm and Kyzylangur Fm with erosion

Upper contact

It is conformably overlain by the Shirabad Fm.

Regional extent

Central and Southwest Gissar.
